Established in 2011 by Florida State University head football coach Jimbo Fisher and wife Candi after their youngest son Ethan was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia. Kidz1stFund provides support to families affected by Fanconi anemia, provides education to raise awareness about this rare disease and raises money for FA research in the hopes of finding a cure. The Fanconi Anemia Comprehensive Care Program at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital is the single largest treatment center for patients with Fanconi anemia in the country. In March of 2012, the Fisher family presented the U of M with a $500,000 donation from Kidz1stFund to aid in their tireless efforts.
